I took my fluval 3 off the planted tank, and after two weeks, the plants have started shooting up again! Amazing how one small change can trigger things in a finely balanced world! I just have an external on there for now...needed the fluval for growout tank for another batch of kribs!!

anyway just a thought early in the morning!!

Why has changing the filter had such an effect on the plants? lovely tank though

My theory is that the decreased surface agitation means there is less dissolved oxygen and more co2 in the water....just a theory! The cannister I have on it with a spraybar is under the water.

Anyone want to shoot my theory down with flames

Think thats the angle of the lens distorting slightly.....there really is no kink on the stand. Used to have a background but got lost when I moved, and the bristlenose who usually cleans the glass must have forgotten on this day because it was crystal clear when I looked last night!!
