Fungal Infection? Urgent Advice Needed

So I received my donated media today and fish seem very happy and energetic.

However a few days ago I did lose a few of my first fish (2 male guppies) to what I suspected was fin rot and for which the pet store took full responsibility for.

I now have a week old tank with a honey gourami and a dalmation Molly left - both of whom are eating and swimming about happily.

However, tonight, after her sudden energy burst my honey gourami appears to have developed a fungal infection (which I suspect the guppies had) - this may be because she has been darting around and has scratched on the rock or she may have caught it from the guppies.

Either way I'm distraught.

I need to know..... A - will today's donated filter squeeze help balance any fungal infection and B - if not can I treat it at home with anything natural - the pet shop will be closed for 2 days over the holiday period and I am fearful may lose her.

My dalmation Molly looks grand and is active all the time. The gourami is (and has been since I got her) more reserved amongst the live plants.

Advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Please note - my ammonia readings were 0.25 yesterday hence the media donation from well established tank.

Ammonia is a severe irritant to fish, this could be why the gourami is flicking. The donated media will start colonising your media within the next 24 hours. Do you know what your ammonia readings are today? I would be assuming they have risen from yesterday. Although you now have mature media I would suggest a small water change as soon as you can (now if possible) to remove/dilute the harmful ammonia, the fill will still be producing enough to feed the mature media. This should relieve the gourami until all the media has bacteria enough to keep the water healthy.

Fish under stress will be more prone to ich, watch out for tiny white spots on the fish. The mature media should start working pretty rapidly.

Well It now looks like a proper case of cotton wool disease though its localised around the area she had damaged and despite the water changes and ammonia treatment she doesn't look like she will make it as is very lopsided and struggling to stay afloat with so much "wool" on one side.
The Molly is still great he's active all the time and no signs of damage but I'm very disheartened by the state of the gourami.

Being New Year's Day I can't even go to the pet shop to buy treatment so feeling pretty helpless.

Is there anything natural/household found I can use to try up help?

Looking at your location could you not pop to a pets at home if you have one near to get a treatment? I am sure they will be open today.

Do you know anyone who might have some malachite green/fungal treatment on hand? It's always good to have some in stock. A little bit crazy but if you have a local sales page like gumtree, try searching for people selling fish or plants locally that seem to be good fishos and give them a buzz; they might be willing to help out if they have some green in stock!

Hope your fish will be okay - the mold that causes this is opportunistic and not normally invasive of fish due to slime coating, so check your water, pH, hardness and temperature etc to make sure they are within parameters for your fish. Prior ich infection can also provide an avenue for fungus to take hold, and fungus can lead to fin rot as well. The fungus itself is unlikely to kill your fish but getting on top of parameters and finding some treatment is essential for a good outcome.

Barring finding any actual medicine, you could do a salt dip.

Salt that is safe, aquarium salt, kosher salt, sea salt, pickling salt, NONIODIZED table salt.

This will be a concentrated dip, using 7.5 teaspoons (2.5 tablespoons) per US gallon (3.8 liters). Monitor the fish closely during this time for signs of stress, and at the first sign of stress, return the fish immediately to the tank. Do not leave the fish in this solution for more than 30 minutes, no matter what. Make sure the temp is very close to the temp of your tank, using tank water is probably easiest.

A salt dip like this can be useful against external parasites, as well as fungus like this, as it can kill the parasites, but also can be used to stimulate the slime coat production by the fish.

Be sure the salt is completely dissolved first.

It's New Year's Day. Nowhere is open.
Sorry I just thought that as the supermarkets are open and all other clothes shops and furniture stores, that pets at home would also be open,
