just wanted you guys opinion
i am looking at combining my two 20 gallons into a 50 gallon tank
i thought since i have a few larger fish, this would be better as there would be more swimming room (larger space)

the tank inhabitants of both tanks include:
(tank one) (tank two)

1 Marble Angel
4 platy
2 bronze corydoras
1 spotted corydoras
1 peppered corydoras
1 white cloud minnow

3 khuhli loaches
1 upside down synedontis
1 blue gourami
1 gold gourami
1 dwarf gourami
1 flying fox
1 kribensis
1 bolivian ram cichlid

i think the mix will do quite well
i'm not sure how platy will go with cichlids (even though they are community
i may end up with a 10 gallon for the platy and sell the two 20 gallons

i also wanted to add my baby white clouds to the tank
they are barely and inch and male so they are quite thin
the white cloud in the tank is never bothered by the angel since it is female and very fat, but i am a bit worried to put the males in with the angel, knowing that angels instinctive diet would be a simularly built and sized nean tetra

what do you guys think about combining the two tank inhabitants?
in theory there would be key issues such as combining small community with large community
but i think with this much space (a 50gal) and a nice planted tank, i shouldn't have this problem
also i would be worried about the flying fox being semi- aggressive but she is quite peaceful, and this would provide her with even more space then to begin with
and lastly, there is the concern of putting cichlids with small community but these two are community cichlids and peaceful both towards each other aswell as the other tankmates

do you guys think the white clouds are still too tiny?

i'm not looking for answers, just second opinions
so anyone and everyones imput is welcome

i see your in the room kev,
lol
but it looks like your sleeping
or wrighting a novel :p
i hope you reply

Well, you have a lot of schooling fish without shcools, so if you could find a way to buy an even bigger tank, you could finnish off all of the schools and also combine the tanks together (assuming that you already do not own the 50 gallon)
What are the dimmentions for the 50 gallon tank?

who doesn't have a school?
(other then the white cloud of course since her school is too small to put in the tank yet)

Well, Even though you have 4 Cory's, they are mostly all different breeds. I'm assuming that they don't school together, and would probably benefit from having at least two more of their kind for each of species, preferably more. Upside down Catfish also like being in schools (if were both thinking of the same one (Synodontis Nigriventris)) of at least 5.
But of course, I do not know your fish, and they may be perfectly content in their currant groups (although in a bigger tank with much more fish, they may want more of their kind to be with them).
If possible, Try ordering a 50 breeder, as they have larger footprint and also have more surface area for oxygen exchange, and there for can support many more fish. :)

corydoras aren't racist
colour or "breed" doesn't matter they all school
they even school with the synedontis (back when they were in the same tank) due to its small size (it is young and only 2")
i will be getting at least 2 more synedontis when i get the bigger tank for sure
i guess i didn't mention that

I think you would be fine, except for the 2 scrawny male white clouds, they would be a snack.

I think the platys would also be fine. Plus you'll have tons of plants and hiding places I assume. :p

Sand or gravel? :dunno:
