hello not sure this is the right place to post this so apologizes if its not.

i have a couple of questions on fry. my mollies had fry a few days after we got her and we managed to find 15 fry in the tank and but them in a breeder net for the kid to watch develop.  all is fine.  i had some java moss in the tank and decided it was spreading to much and pulled it out and put in a plastic tub with tank water on to of the tank as the hood is warm so it not cold.  anyway went to change the water in the java moss tub as it been a week ( im planing a moss wall just wanting to the mesh to come)  and found a few zebra danio fry in there.  I didn't plan in doing breeding my tank is well planted and has hide places for fry so we were just going to leave it to it.   the kids have seen the fry and  don't want me to put them in the main tank now so im looking in to a breeding tank for the baby's.  what do i need? small tank, heater,  does it need gravel/marbles in there dose it need live plants or can i just keep the jave moss in that tank?. will it need a filter?  and whats the smallest air pump i can buy?  will it need a light?   i was thinking of going to pets at home and buying one of there small glass kids tanks? would these be any good just for a fry tank?

next question
one of my mollies died. not sure why but while looking for her to remove the body i noticed my large bit of bog wood  had this white slime  on the underside. i took it out as i was worried and it stank like rotten eggs!  its on nothing else. mollies was only dead overnight. what is it? i scrubbed it off and the bog woods been drying out for a few days. the big question it what is it and how can i get rid of it.

bog wood is from algae, normal if you just put the wood in..  *** leave the wood in the water.. once it grows the algae back remove it and srub, repeat until gone. it doesn't look nice, but its safe for your fish.
if you didn't cycle the tank then that is the reason your molly died.

for your fry you can get a 10 gallon aquarium, a small heater and a small filter of your choosing.. the filter doesn't need to be for a 10 gallon, it can be smaller.
put a large sponge over the intake of the filter so the fry do not get sucked up.
feed the fry, fry flakes, and do larger water changed every other day. make sure to drip the water into the tank to not shock the fry with cold treated water.
get a water tester to check the stats so you know that the water condition is safe.
after every feeding remove any and all dead fry, and food from the bottom.

thank you. the the slime wont cause any fishy illness? or cause my water to stink?     i made the error of a cycling with fish but thats has completed ( ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0.25 ) a little while ago with no loss of fish ( all the same fish).

will the fry tank need a light?

would this be ok?
