I was just thinking, Id like to get a puffer for my tank, but i know nothing about them, so wanted to ask some advice here.

Im going to be getting 2 ropefish, probably 4 angels, 2 plecos, and maybe some larger tetras, gouramis or something.

Are there puffers that will co-exist peacefully with this combo of fish??

Also about clams, could/should i get one or two?? would they be worth it? what do they eat?

The question really ought to be...

Are there puffers that will co-exist peacefully

...and the answer is very easy.

NO!

Also clams are a very bad idea as their young are parisitic and attach themselves to the gills of passing fish...

Not very nice!

I agree with @ombomb, other than that though, ropefish will need a very large tank, how many gallons is your tank? Are there any particular types of plecs you are planning on getting?

Also worth remembering that if the "larger tetras" aren't larger than the rope fishes mouth, they will en up being rope fish food. They're not aggressive, but if they can fit it in their mouth, it'll end up in their mouth.
