Hi, I have just found lots of little baby fish in my tank.

I am pretty sure they are from a black molly.

I have a silver molly in the tank too, but I didnt think they could breed.

They are small and I have a couple of fish that are big enough to eat them.

What should I do?

I dont really know the species of the other fish, usually I ask my parents for advice on how to maintain the tank, but they cant be reached at the moment, and I dont want all the babies eaten before they come I can ask them.

Speedy help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi. I take it you don't have a plastic or net breeder. Well if you don't try to get to the store asap. Having a lot of plants as well as larger pieces of gravel help.

Sorry I couldn't help you more. Good Luck.

I'm waiting for my swordtail to have babies. I think it may happen tonight. I am going to check.

Thanks for the reply,

I think I know the plastic breeder that you mentioned.

The problem is that it is late at night and I dont want the fish to be eaten while i sleep.

I fed the fish with a good lot of food, so they hopefully wont get hungry, and eat the babies.

I was thinking of filling a plastic freezer bag with tank water and attaching it to the side of the tank.

I probably wont be able to check back here before I go to bed. So I will only put a few of the fish in the bag.

I will tell you how it goes.

Thanks again.
