For those of you using DIY CO2 I wanted to point out a money saving tip. I was originally buying packages from the super market for a little over 2 dollars. After much searching I finally decided to just suck it up and pay the shipping on a 1lb bag of yeast, ordered from amazon.com (sent from the bakers catalog).

I got 1lb, which is the equivalent to 64 envelopes. Paying $2 for three envelopes means I would have to spend over $42 for the same amount of yeast: [ (64 envelopes x 2 dollars)/3 envelopes ]

I paid around $12 inc. shipping.

That's a $30 saving! Bargain!

Pseud, Great idea !!! I dont know if I'll require that much. How long is the shelf life of this 1lb bag?

No idea!! Kept in the fridge/freezer it should last long enough for it all to be used.

I bought bulk yeast. one bag went bad, I think i got moisture in is some how. It was rated to expire only after september of 07. :X I was a bit mad but it was only $3 for 2 pounds of the stuff and I only opened 1 pound at first.
