Andrew Vachss, writer of the 'Burke' series of crime stories featuring the outlaw private eye and his 'family'. Here is part of his official website 'the Zero'. An attourney in law specialising in cases involving the abuse of children, he (together with others) has helped to pioneer various ways for children to give evidence against adults accused of abusing them. Some of these involve the use of dogs as 'confidants' for the children. They help give them courage in the courtroom. Also Vachss is a great lover of dogs and they often feature in his stories.
