Flow Through Sump

I cant remeber if the ideal flow through the sump is X5 the sumps volume of water per hour or X5 the display tanks volume of water per hour..

Designing the sump/overflow system for the new tank and working out how much over budget I'm going to be

Edit: Also just worked out the budget for the tank and even buying it all new I have enough saved for it already Got a quote for £420 for the tank (5X2X2.5) and £70 for a 130L sump

I go for around 5x the tank.

Yeah it was, 12mm glass tank, drilled with weirs.
