I am running in my new 425l tank

I have 4 1200l/h powerheads and a 650l/H filter (with filter wool and PO4 & SiO2 adsorber)

I have currently set up the power heads on 2 levels 2 halfway done the tank diagnoally opposed and two at the top.

I have also left the venturi tubes on the top 2 is this ok?

Noiw I have everything running there is a heck of alot of water movement. This I guess will be good for the live rock - but will fish enjoy such strog currents?

I worked out that this tank will take about 7.5kg of salt -

Any suggestions as to patterns of flow best way to add salt etc.

Cheers

Frank

For flow with that many powerheads, you want them all pointing at each other - as opposed to going round in a big whirlpool spiral thing. That will make very turbulent flow similar to an actual reef.

Venturi's are generally not used as they create lots of microbubbles and with that amout of circulation, extra aeration in unecessary.

Mix salt up in a tub with water, heater and powerhead for a day, THEN add it to the tank.

Remember to add the salt to the water rather than the other way round to prevent precipitation.

I'm sure the fish won't mind the flow as long as you make sure it's well dispersed as sam said.

your flow is pretty low with those powerheads. about 13 times tank turn over

i have 2 X 1200lph streams plus 3 2000lph circulation pumps in my tank.

fish come from the ocean - you wont "over flow" them :D
