I have a 10 gallon tank and I have been noticing that my fish like to stay under or near the driftwood but when I turn of the light they spread out more. I am thinking maybe they are scared of how bright the light is. What are all the floating plants I can get that don’t make the tank look like I swamp like duckweed does?

Red root floaters are nice and so is Salvinia

This is kind of a stupid question, but is it wrong to throw away plants like if I have red root floaters and they are overpopulating the tank can I just take a bunch out and throw them in the garbage?

That's what I have to do every week. In the summer they go in the green recycling collection; in the winter, when there are no green recycling collections, they go in the rubbish. When we had a compost bin, they went in there.

Or alternatively, sell the surplus plants.

Hello. I keep Anacharis (Elodea), Hornwort and Dwarf Water Lettuce. Indian Fern (Water Sprite) is also a fast grower.

10 Tanks (Now 11)
