Floating Plants

I have some floating plants in my outdoor pond, not sure what they're called, but they're small leaved I think it's azolla
Would they do ok in my guppy tank to provide cover for fry?
The fish outside are all healthy & been in there for 3 years now with no problems, so no diseases to transfer . . . I hope

I cant see there being a problem tbh, i would be inclined to give them a little scrub and clean off before popping them in and you should be fine .

It should be fine in your tank, but I would just make sure your filter doesn't end up either pushing it all to one end of the tank or worse sucking it up. Also azolla and a lot of other floating plants can multiply at an alarming rate especially with a good light source on a tank could supply. The fry will like hiding in the roots and they will also get minute food from the roots. I would personally give the weed a good rinse just to make sure you don't bring any potential nasty hitch hikers from the pond into your tank.

I would make sure to have some other fry cover as well since when guppies are born, they will immediately fall down and won't be able to swim for a brief time. The floating plants won't be able to help them at their weakest. I've seen my guppies eating the fry as soon as they popped out!

Also, a quick clean would probably not hurt. Fry are much more susceptible than your pond fish. A veryyy small concentration of bleach water bath then a very good rinse should get rid of anything. Be careful not to get snails in your tank! They'll never leave.
