Flier Cychlid - Archocentrus Centrarchus

i came home today with an extra fish i didnt expect to get, its a Archocentrus centrarchus or Flier cichlid. ive never seen one before and was just wondering if anyone else has kept or is currently keeping one? apparently they are a relative of the convict cichlid but not as aggressive. mine is about 5 inches or so and apparently they can get up to 8 inch if male and slightly smaller if female.
its currently settling in and the only pic i could get was of it in the bag until tomorrow as it went straight behind a big plant

i used to keep them. They are fantastic fish, if you can get a female as well they'll pair up no problem. They breed like convicts.
Keep hold of that one, you dont see them often at all.

yeah ive never come accross one before so just couldnt resist it. you know how it is

so far he/she seems quite chilled out but i still think he is getting use to its new home. they are meant to be more placid than the convict but can still hold their own. time will tell i guess, knowing my luck its gonna be a right sod

ive actually just been talking to the previous owner on another forum and he took it to oddball express when he had a stocking change. he seems to think it wasnt that bad.....

if it starts tearing everything up then im sure i can find a new home for it its currently in with a nic and one of your rotkeils and isnt bothering them. yet!!!!!
