I passed through Singapore last year. Judging by the ambient temperature, you'll not be coming back with any heaters in your suitcase.... Quite a few shops with nice livestock on display, though. Mind you, that'll not be coming back with you either.

That's my [useless] two cents worth.

depending on the type of equipment you're after, you might want to hit the farms or local shops (which can be found everywhere). shops stock mainly the basics and in some places they may be abit pricey. your best bet is hitting the farms straight. there's only two which i remember, one's in pasir ris (which also has a tank/stand building place if i remembered correctly) and the other's near choa chu kang. i've included links of the farms which brings you to more information about them. personally i've went to both and stocking wise it isnt very fantastic. it stocks more commonly seen species, mostly freshwater. the second farm i mentioned has an arowana room which has the platinum arowana (the one featured in Practical Fishkeeping).

suprisingly though, shops do seem to stock rarer species as compared to farms. i'm going down to one later to pick up some 'weird' knifefishes, something which i never ever see in farms.

on a side note, the weather is ridiculously warm and humid in singapore, you might want to take note of that.

thanks everyone im going to make a note of all of them :D

i have a fairly good idea of what heat im gonna be dealing with ive already been to hong kong which is similar if not the same weather, i lived on McDonalds for 3 weeks and came back half a stone lighter

since singapore shares the same plugs as the UK i thought it certainly worth my while seeing what equipment there is available while im there.

PFK swooned over how much there was

cheers for all the help :good:

Im from the lake district but I used to live in Singapore for 2 years back in 98-2k Id say if your after a bargain then get the causeway over to malaysia and after a 1h30min bus journey or car drive you'll find more than you could possibly even consider taking back with you for pennies :)

im actually trying to book malaysia for december time so i'll be asking the same question about malaysia closer to then

least i know who to ask about malaysia now :good:
