okay i noticed a few days ago one of my celestial pearl danio isolated himself from the rest of group, i noticed a chunk missing from its rear fin so i thought it was just taking himself away maybe got bullied out by another male or what not, but today i then noticed he looked fluffy :S my tank parameters are fine 0 on ammonia and nitrite i have taken him out and he's in a large jug while i sort this out as i do not want my other fish getting infected il try and get a good picture but the best thing i can say is the fishes main body looks fluffy :S

again il get a pic now or do my best to get a gd picture  but whats your thoughts so far, just to note my tank temp is stupidly high at the moment 28.6 today was 29c yesterday could this be effecting this? I'm plan to do a cold wc today to reduce this temp

Most likely the chunk missing caused an infection and also caused lots of stress. Poor little thing. Possibly bacterial or fungal. Will need pictures to tell.

okay pictures

last one seems to be the best to show what i mean by fluffy

Go to a search engine website and type in aquarium fish disease chart and look at a few of the charts. Looks like this is fungal. Could also be whats called dropsy. Dropsy is more common, but I've seen fungal infections that look like cotton candy on the fish.

Poor little thing! Looks to be in a bit of a state.
Sorry am not good with fish disease and I guess time is of the essence if the little one is to be saved. Have heard good things about Esha 2000 being an excellent all round treatment, but I guess that's only helpful if you've got some to hand.
Have you considered a salt bath or dip? Can't advise on how to do them as I've never done it.
Maybe someone else can advise better.

thank you both i shall check them out, in terms of medication i have no idea :S

but it does look like the fish is like puffing its scales out maybe to cool down :S but only a guess seeming my tank is HOT!

Reading more of the descriptions it is definitely dropsy. Get some meds and follow the directions. Use a quarantine tank if possible.

was just looking at those websites and only one that it looks like is dropsy :S

There is definitely something furry growing on it's side, but I agree that the last picture looks a bit like dropsy too altho at first I thought it was because it was a close-up.

Never had dropsy on any of my fish. This is for someone else to answer.

i just did a quick check i already add magnesium sulphate to my tank as part of plant fertiliser :S
