How long if any guarentee should a LFS provide on fish purchased?

I bought two SAE and two bolivian rams on Sunday but this morning one of the SAE was dead and one of the rams looked sick, that has since died too. I phoned up the store as it was only a day and a half since I'd bought the fish and they said they only give a 24hr guarentee

Is this the normal?

I checked all my water levels and all are fine

Anything special I should do to my tank after removing the dead fish? first deaths i've had so really dissapointed :(

the other SAE was dead last night :( but the last ram looks ok alhough i haven't seen her eating

Should i be doing anything to my tank after the deaths? or do you think it's just down to conditions at lfs?

Near me i have 2 p@h's and a maidenhead aquatics and both offer 7 days, and ive only had to take fish back once and i took them back with a water sample, which they tested, then when they said the water stats were fine they swapped the fish no problem.

There are two lfs near me. One gives no guarantee at all. The other gives 24 hours and they need the body and a water sample.

Same experience. However I returned some fish about 2 weeks after we had purchased them, however I had placed them in the freezer after their death for evidence. I got them to do a water test to make sure mine wasn't dodgey same result. I asked for money off on a new filter instead.

Also one pet/aquatic centres I once worked for did a 7 day guarantee on nearly all fish. However they would require a water test before and after they gave you fish. If you did not provide the water test they usually wouldn't give you the benefit of the doubt if they all died, one or two out of 5 and they'd replace them and of course not give you the fish until the water is down. The guys were good and would talk people through the process for a good 20 minutes. As opposed to P@h's who just say wait it out or buy this product.
