Hey, just have a quick question. Some of my fish seem to be getting overly chubby. They only get fed twice a day (tetra flakes), and there's never any left over. but they're all getting little buddah bellies. My bf is afraid they may have internal paracites. What do you guys think? too much food or something else?

are they just fat like an hour or 2 after you feed them, or are they fat like 3+ hours after being fed? if they are fat like an hour after, i think this is normal because the food didnt digest yet.

You could probably easily skip a day here or there and reduce the amounts you're feeding your fish without any adverse effects. And as already stated, the duration of "fatness" would help assess what the problem is. :p Though if it is only with certain fish, they might be gravid females.

hi
just feeding dry flake food only can cause bloating in some fish, have you thought about varying their diet??? ie: lettuce, peas, tablet food, fresh frozen food??
bloating from their dry diet may be the cause of your 'fat' fish.
