Fish Fighting Problem

I was recomended golden gouramis as perfect community fish so i got one male one female but they dont stop fighting .They are causing stress to my platies and guppies. Would seperating them solve this. If i only took one out would

a. attack others in the tank

b. die of lonliness

I know this probably should be in gourami forum but got no replies there and i am a beginner. Please help me.

our dwarf gouriamis do that, they fight with each other and peck the other fish.. they settle down after a few weeks anddo it less tho

If they are like dwarf gouramis, then the male will often chase the female. With dwarf gouramis it is ofter recommended that you have a 1 male to 2 female ratio to ease the situation. but, like i said, this is with the dwarf gouramis, the others might be different.
