Hi all, I looked at one of my fish today, and he's been attacked during the night for some reason. He has a hole in the top of his head and doesnt look to good. I have just started my treatment for ich 2 days ago. Does anyone anyone think it might be the treatment or just another fish has attacked it?...I raised my 9 Plattys from fry and dont see why they would attack each other. I also just moved them into a new tank if that helps.

Please Help?...Cheers!

it could be the disease 'hole in the head' ?????

i'm no expert with diseases though.

:good:

Hole in the head looks like pitting, could of been an ulcer as well, can you issolate the sick fish, how deep is the hole as it could get infected.

Hi, it looks like the wound has been picked at, as there is loose skin around the wound. I dont think the wound was as big as i thought, it looks like about 3 or 4 layers have been removed.I've put the fish into a breeding box, just incase it gets attacked again. It just seemed like a coincidence between puting the treatment in and then a fish being injured.

Could he off tore it open on a ornament in the tank, what other fish do you keep.

Strange, i would add some melafix for now to see how it goes, are they live plants if so when did you add them to the tank, look at the wound with a magifying glass to make sure there is no visable parasites in that area, just to make sure.

The plants have been in the for months so i dont think that would be the cause. I will do as you say and see what happens.

Cheers! and thanx for all the help!

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a parasite, as sometimes fish will peck at other fish when they have parasites.
