Hello all, some of you may remember my excitement, as my firemouths bred for the first time. :hyper: It was back in November the 17th, all the fry sadly died  , don't know why, but i'm up for another go. I have just noticed the breeding tubes on the fish, so i reckon its not gonna be long. So if you have any tips and trick on survival of the fry, it would be much appreciated! :good:

Thanks

Well, almost 95 percent of my firemouth fry are alive and kicking. Check out my post here :

I didn't do anything out of the normal. The fry are now huge and growing like weeds. I just do weekly water changes and feed them high-quality foods. Seems to do the trick. If you have any questions, just ask! Good luck!

Congratulations again! the only thing I can suggest is leave the parents to it as much as possible best of luck :good:

. I have bad luck with fry. I can get fish to spawn keep eggs but once free swiming forget about it. Keep the tank clean make sure you have the right filter feed good food.

Good luck fry are a lot of work.

I don't think it will be long now till the female lays the eggs. the problem is they are in a community tank, so i can't just remove the parents, so i was told to remove them when they are wrigglers, is this right?

From my experience the fry require no hard work at all. The only thing I do differently is feed them different food. They are growing like weeds. I would suggest leaving the fry with the parents. That's what I did.
