A question, there is a reputation between gobies and blennies that only one of each could be kept in a tank, but just thinking due to the firefish goby not being part of the Gobiodon genus and infact under Nemateleotris, can you keep a Gobiodon genus with a Nemateleotris genus goby?

Firefish are actually a species of dartfish, so not even from the same family as gobies, so there shouldn't be any real worries on that front.

As to keeping no more than one goby in a tank, I have not very often (if ever) heard of that. Pretty much all my tanks with gobies in have more than one, be it 4 bumblebee gobies in a FW tank, or or the zebra and blue cheek gobies in the reef.

Some blennies will fight among themselves over territory but many can be kept together. Gobies of all types can be kept together as well except if you have pairs of sleeper gobies. Then it is only 1 pr of the sleeper gobies per tank, unless the tank is big. However, you can keep other gobies with the sleeper gobies. Fire gobies will get along fine with anything that doesn't try to eat them and do best in groups.
