Fast growing bottom feeders would be pretty much all bichirs, but you can usually get them pretty grown as well, also im sure a spiny eel at about 6" or more would be fine with the aro, and watch out for droopy eye with him, i read putting a ping pong ball in there keeps them looking up and sometimes play with it.
