I was in my local pah store today, and I saw this gorgeous little finch. I don't know what it was, and I want one but I would be interested to to know what it is for the research factor.

It looks sort of like a penguin. It is about the same size as a zebra finch, with blac all over except for its face and i think chest. Its getting hard to remember what it looked like!

It had a white face and chest, with a black band over its chest. It was very striking, if anyone has any suggestions or know what type of finch it is, please post it here.

I'm not sure if these are close to the finch you saw but this is what I found.

Cool, I left the Url in the Pic so you can have a look at them.

I used to Keep Lots of Finches and Housed them in a custom built Cage.

It had a trianguler base 3ft by 3ft by 2ft. the Ballooned out and then tapered in to form a point.
I used Whicker Wine Baskets to make There Homes and they loved Gathering Nesting Material and Building there little Homes. I dotted them at different levels in the cage to give some sense of territory.
and hung Silk Palnts to make roost and Perches.

I kept Bengal Finches
Albino Finches
Zebra Finches
and My Favourite Birds

Golden Breasted Waxbills, Which I found out Live all Over the Place in My Wifes Farming Town. And Here I paid 25 a pair, and She Caught them for free.
