Well, I posted a while back with what I thought would be my finished fish room, but it seems my betta population has jumped to 10, and I have since purchased a 75g for my goldfish, which means the 29g couldn't stay in the kitchen and had to move into my room. So, even though it took about a week, I've finally finished my "fish room," which takes up most of my bedroom. But who needs sleep when you have fishes, anyways?
Anyways, here is what I really hope is the final set-up, though who knows if I end up getting a fish or two from BettaBum... :shifty:

Whee! I finally can see everyone properly now that I've re-ordered the main shelf. Buckeye and the unnamed fish are my two newest fish; I'll talk about them below the pics.

Can you tell I like showing off Shyboy the most?

Ok, so Reebum isn't a betta, but his stand provided a new home for Pitaya, my sweet little girl from Synirr. As you can see, she is now in 5g of water. It is in a 10g because I wanted it to be wide and shallow for her. I'm hoping to add a filter and live plants soon; anything to spoil my little PK gal.

And, ok, Farrago and Arloest just happen to be Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, not fish. But, they wouldn't have that tank if Shokora's old one hadn't started leaking, so its betta-related, I guess.

Now, on to the scoop on the latest rescues (none are for adoption; I have a sort of "sanctuary" instead of rescue)! Since I moved back home, I have aquired three new bettas: Quasi, Buckeye, and Jaser, currently labeled "un-named" since we just named him.
Quasi (pictured in the banner below, 3rd from the left on the top row) was aquired from Pet Supplies Plus for free after a nice long public argument with management about his condition. He has a gill deformity, had severe fin rot, and several superficial wounds from god-only-knows-what. He was very sickly for the first week I had him, but now he's active and full of spunk, with tail re-growth finally beginning (it took a while for some reason).
Buckeye (pictured in the banner below, 2nd from the right on the top row) is from PetSmart. They got in an over-shipment of all of thier fish, and had about 30 female bettas in maybe a 15g cube tank with one plant. Needless to say, it was a massacre, and buckeye was so pale she was basically light beige, fin-nipped, weak, and being slammed against the side of the tank by the current. I got her for half off upon my very vocal insistence, and the fact that the employees were probably fed up enough just about the overstocking. She is now a pleasant orangey color, very active, and regrowing fins rapidly.
Jaser (pictured in the banner below, 3rd from the left on the bottom row) is from a local pet store that apparently wasn't thinking right. They got in an order of plakats, mistook them for females, and put them all in together! Think nasty massacre ensues. They had them all split up by the time I got there, but this bloke was very badly wounded; his side looked flayed, his fins were a mess, and his color was so bad I didn't think he'd make the ride home. Got him for free since they were having trouble selling the "ugly shortfinned bettas," only to have him come down with columnaris, and promptly thereafter, Ich! What a mess. However, as you can see, he's recovered from both. His wound is healing nicely, as are his fins. Its been a rough road, but I think he just might make it ^^

WOW!! I wish i could have a set up like that!! i would LOVE IT! It looks amazing and I'm sure they are SO happy with all that room!! You did an awesome job. :good:

Awesome-
Is that metal shelving- i can;t find it anywhere- I'm going to be using wood- hope it holds :X
James :good:

Well, when you have no social life, cleaning tanks all day is easy. rofl
I actually feel bad that I can't offer more homes. I have three empty 2.5gs sitting in my basement doing nothing, but I don't like keeping bettas in less than 5 as a general rule.
Thanks for all the comments everyone! I'm impressed with my set-up, but I didn't know if anyone else would be since it is all very basic. All I know is that the fish sure do like it!

Hahaha. I'm allready giving away all of my 1 and 2g's to BettaBum this May. I'm half considering filling the 3 2.5's with snails, but I think my water isn't great for them. Hmm.

Very nice set-up. I rarely see bettas is such luxurious, large tanks. :good:

BTW, what do you feed your roaches?

I once worked in a restaurant that was located in a 150 year old mansion, with a subway tunnel running underneath. I saw roaches the size of the things in Mimic. -_-

The roaches get fresh fruits and veggies, soaked dog food, and Fluker's cricket diet. They seem to especially love carrots.

Well, looks like it will be changing yet again! I'm picking up two new girls from BettaBum tomorrow, so the 10g tank pictured will become a divided tank for the two of them. Technically I have enough girls for a sorority now, but I'm too afriad of fighting to go through with it. I think they'll like the space, anyways.
And, the girl in that 10g is moving into a new 5g - not clue where to put it yet; they need to make 5g tank stands!
I'll post pics of the new set-up once the girls are all settled. They have to stay in temporary 2.5's until Monday since the store isn't getting the dividers in until then.
