My filter is making a current a little to strong for my fish and I want to know to decrease current strength the filter is a aqueon and came with the ten gal delux kit

Can you turn it so the output is facing the side of the tank? Or put a piece of filter sponge, or even cut up coke bottle to deflect the flow? It's not good for the filter to actually block the flow in any way.

What kinds of fish do you have?

You could add something like this to the return pipe to control the flow:

Reducing the flow would put strain on the motor and shorten the life of the unit overall.
It is an HOB aqueon-power-filter so a creative deflection or diffusion would be the only real way.

some fish like a good flow, so like fluttermoth asked what kind of fish do you have?
