i was looking to get some new ferts, root tabs and liquid to help with the algae, most of the ones i looked at said that all ferts contain copper and there fore unsuitable for tanks with shrimps, any comments ??

Most fertilisers contain copper, the concentrations are so small they don't affect invertebrates.

Anyone care to expand on that a bit? That's a bit too vague to go on.

I should add that that the way the copper is bound probably has an effect too.

so should ignore the warning on the product that you should not add to an aquarium with shrimps and risk them all dying

what ferts are they Di?

If the manufacturer warns that they'll kill shrimp then don't use it, use a different fertiliser.
