Is there any downside to slightly overfeeding my tetra's Cardinals, red phantom and Glowlight aside from the extra waste. The reason i ask is eventually they will be having some medium sized angels added to there tank and at the moment they seem small and i'm afraid the angels will think lunch time.

It may cause water quality issues, overfeeding is not a good thing for the fish...

Simple solution - dont add the angel until this lot has grown more :)

for the best growth rates its best to feed small amounts 2 or 3 times a day. feed enough so that they all get some then wait and re feed later. this will also give more issues with water quality so extra water changes will be needed to keep everything in check but at the same time more frequent fresh water will also help with the fishes development. overfeeding isnt a good thing to do as the fish can only digest and get the goodness from so much food. if overfed the food is passed faster through the fish and it doesnt benefit from alot of it.

so small but more feeds and plenty of water changes will be the best thing to grow up fish. i grew up some tiny cardinals in no time doing just this :good:

I suppose over feeding is badly put. Normally i feed 1 time a day what is eaten in 30-45 seconds and was wanting to up it to 3 times a day what is eaten in 45-60 seconds. I'll be very careful with water quality as i have some lovely panda and julli corydoras and from the size i would guess they are juvi's. Also will an older cory happily shoal with juvi's ?
