Feeding Plants

So I was wondering what type of plants are favorites for the cichlids?

They are likely to eat most plants. Java fern and Amazon sword tend to survive quite well though.

I want them to eat the plant.

I want to have an area in the tank just with the plant so they can grub on thier own. Maybe I'll just have to use wafers and frozen food then.

or you could listen to what ferris said, they will eat MOST plants but java fern and amazon sword tend to survive quite well, does that not mean that they would eat most plants?
