Hello all!

I recently bought my four year old a couple of platys for his birthday, and they are doing well so far. My worry is, they aren't eating enough... we give them a small pinch every morning, crumbled into small pieces, as instructed by Pets at Home, but they don't seem to be eating all of it... wondering why?!

I'm also thinking of putting a lamp in the corner of the room where the fish are... will this borrow them?!

Thanks guys! :)

I'm assuming its flake food your using. Just put in a couple of flakes let them eat that then a couple more. Dry flake swells up when wet so if fish eat it dry it swells up in them filling them up. (That's the only way I can explain it). When they stop eating stop feeding. Is this your first tank if so have you cycled the tank. The lamp should not bother them. You should also offer them more than flake try bloodworm live or dried, even a very small piece of washed earthworm now and again. What temperature is the tank? I feed my fish a small amount 2/3 times per day. I hope this helps, having said all this everyone has there own way of looking after there charges I find this works for me.
