Hey there,
I recently put a piece of favia coral in my tank and have since been informed that this cannot be placed near any other of my corals because of it's stinging tenticles. So my question is can anything be placed directly next to this or will everything perish if placed in close quarters?

Deano.

Mine has only expanded it's sweepers once, and I have always had it within 2 inches of another coral. It just depends on if it feels threatened, but try at least 4 inches away, and if need be, they can be moved closer over time, little by little. But the tentacles are very harmful if another coral gets stung.

Mine zapped everything within about 5" (it is the size of a small football though) until the Mojanoes got a hold in the tank and have walked all over it and killed about half of it :grr:

Wait till lights out then add some phytoplex or zooplex to the tank or something similar, you shoulod see the tentacles come out and that should give you an idea of the radius of its sting

Yep they have an extremly powerful sting!
MIne was doing well until yesterday i discovered that the majanoes had got to it bfrom underneath and had wiped out half of it... I have now moved it in the hope that it will recover :-(

Well you've seen my 'boulder' Navarre, well there's only about 1/3 of the surface covered now due to those damn pests :grr:
I'm hoping I can save it when it's moved to the new tank as it will be pretty much on it's own for a while
