Fast Growing Plants

Hi all

My tank has just finished cycling and i have got various algae problems already. I have black beard algae, hair algae, diatoms and bga (but i think its just diatoms mixed with green algae

I have around 10 RCS in there and a new carpet of HC

30L with 11w lighting and pressureised and diy co2

I dose daily however i feel that the ferts are building up as the HC is growing slowly

I want to know which plants grow very fast? , i heard stem plants are fast growers. The plants can out compete the algae and use up exess ferts

you would be better just to increase your water changes and try to increase your water flow

hygrophelia polysperma is a fast growing plant but to be honest i dont think its your best solution just my opinion though

Giant/Jungle Val can grow a couple of inches a day but it will outgrow your tank in a very short time. It would be interesting to see if it would clean up excess nutrients and light until the rest of the tank catches up.

Watersprite is also another fast growing plant that can soak up extra nutrients... How often do you water change? What other ferts do you dose?

Eh? Pressurized and DIY? Shouldn't need the DIY.

You're probably not dosing enough of what is needed.

We want excess nutrients in the tank as it ensures that the plants definetly have enough. Algae spores dont rely on nutrients either to bloom. They want light and ammonia. Thus the premise of plants outcompeteing algae for nutrients simply isnt true. Plants and algae are only after the same thing once the algae spores have bloomed (flagellated). Before then, they are just waiting for the right physical and chemical conditions needed to bloom.
If algae spores and plants were after the same thing then EI tanks would fail 100%.

I dose every day however im not too sure if im adding the right amount, my tanks 30L

Where can i find H.polysperma, Jungle val and water sprite?, i had a look online and at my LFS today but they dont have them

Aqua carbon: around 1ml

Aqua nourish: 2.5ml

Aqua nourish plus : 5ml
