im looking to remove my jewel internal filter and replace it with a external filter.any recomendations?its for 100gal tank

im considering doing that myself.. something about juwel filters. anyways, Eheim are supposed to be good externals

I think that you could get by with a fluval 405 for that tank its the rio 400, and the 405 can take up to a 400 litre, but it depends on what fish stocking you have in the the tank, its usually good to have over filtration, but this again depends on your stocking

yeah i hear there the best.i want to know what model and rough price if anyone can help
my tank is 450 litres and the lfs recomended the fluval 405

When anybody ask's this question for a tank which is similar sized to mine (which yours is) I'd say go for a Eheim 2128 External Thermo filter. Good upto 130 uk gallons I believe. Keeps the water crystal clear & holds masses of benificial bacteria after cycling of course. Very quite filter, easy to clean out (Not that it needs doing very often) Bit of a bias view point but, check out my pic's on an earlier thread in the tank picture topic to see how clear the water is.

Oh yer price is about £180 & £30 for the media. That was over a year ago mind.

:good:
