Hi there I have 3 Endler fry, that came with my shrimp, Their in with my male Betta (one Endler looks Yellow, the others are still small and un-coloured)

What Food Should these little guys be eating? They steal the occasional bit of my Betta Flakes/pellets, but i need to know if this is okay?

The Male Betta (solar) Swims around with them, and only flares when they go near the filter..(he puts himself inbetween the filter and the fry and flares at them untill they move away from it)

Any help greatly appreciated

hikari actually makes baby food in powder form, but you can also feed fry crushed flakes, but they have to be crushed almost into a powder - very fine.

The endlers will eat anything they can. I try to take a single flake of food and grind it a bit between my finger tips when I have a lot of endlers in a tank, that way I can be sure they will find some food small enough for them. The betta food is probably not the best choice for endlers because it is often very high in protein content. As you have found, a betta is not much threat to a decent sized endler fry. If you have enough fish to justify it, I would add a bit of vegetable flake into the diet that your endlers are stealing from the betta. It will suit them better than the ultrahigh protein food and will also be a good change for the betta.

I've been using Freeze Dried Daphina ground into a very fine powder, and been making my betta Flakes really really small...

Will they be okay on that untill I can get some proper Fry food?

You will do fine on that diet. There is no need to finely grind daphnia. An adult daphnia is small enough for an endler fry to eat. Once you have some fry numbers in your tank, it can look like this at feeding time with the fry wading right in along side the adults.

WOW.. I was tempted to go out and get an adult male and 2 females, and attempt to breed them, But, these came free with my red cherry shrimp (the lady was trying to catch the shrimp, but the endlers kept jumping into the fish bag).

Thanks for that. I wont grind the daphina then , i didnt realize it was small enough as it is..(Total Fry Newbie really)

Just an Update my 3 Endler fry are growing fast..

They have started showing colour at last.. (two were just grey/black) and are know turning Green, The Biggest of the 3 is Yellow still..

I'm still feeding them small pieces of flake, Daphnia and the new addition of Frozen bloodworms (Which they seem TO LOVE)
