I have a Juwel Rio 180 Tank.

The tank now is home to:
1 x Blue Gourami
1 x Gold Gourami
2 x Kribensis (male and female pair)
1 x T Ellioti

The Ellioti is only small at the moment maybe 1.5 inches, cant wait for it to get bigger (unaware of sex).
What else will I be able to add to this tank, I really want some schooling fish like tetras, but which variety will be okay long term with the Ellioti?
Or...would some guppys be okay in with this selection of fish?

Cheers in advance

Possibly some of the milder barbs? Although not sure if they would be too much for the Gourami's.

I have a male Ellioti currently around 5 inches long. He now lives in a 300l tank with other Cichlids and a shoal of barbs, but at first I had him in a 180l tank with a female Krib. She constantly tried to bully him. I would have thought a pair of Kribs would be even worse as they can get very territorial. Mind you, he now picks on my Jack Dempsey so maybe they are both a little messed up!!

Oh and I would say be careful with Terta's. My Ellioti could easily swallow anything around the size of a neon.

I think you may have fun with him and the Kribensis if they decide to breed! They can be little sods, and considering that fully grown your Ellioti will be nudging 7" he isn't going to stand for that, so they may fight each other.

My Ellioti is currently in with:

1 L001 Plec (He hates this!)
4 Columbian Red Fin Tetra's (Never even looked at these twice!)
3 Platy's (Seems oblivious to these too!)
2 Anomalochromis Thomasi (Dwarf cichlid, he doesn't chase them but he does flare at them and they ward him off)
1 Angel fish (He shows her who is boss, but never really does anything to her)
2 Pitbull Plecs (No trouble at all)
4 Apple snails (Sometimes plays football with them, but nothing else)

He will not tolerate anything similar size to himself, my HRP's and Jade Eyeds are a no no with him, he just forces them to the top corner of the tank.

He is perfectly fine with 'dithers' but if i was you i would ensure you use some with some size to them such as the Columbian Red Fin Tetra's, Bleeding Heart Tetra's etc etc.

How quickly will my ellioti reach 5-7 inches? Just want to know in preparation!!

Thanks for the information and your experience. I will keep a close eye on the situation.
