Ellioti Cichlid Help Please

hi everyone i need help! iv had 2 ellioti cichlids now for 4 months but for the last week or two one has been knocking the hell outa the other one and has now started niping its fins badly, why is this? should i just take the mean one out to simmer down? they live with community fish and have no problems with them.

Thorichthys species demonstrate alot of conspecific aggression. Obviously the 'bully' has claimed the whole tank as his own and isn't taking to the idea of sharing it with another from the same family.

The only long term option IMO is to rehome or remove one or the other.

Remove the nipped one, as it could get disease.
