Hey guys. im pretty new with this stuff so ignore my ignorance.
I have been running my setup for about a year. i bought it second hand of a fellow of ebay who upgraded to a marine tank
I have a eheim 2226 pro
4 foot tank
currently running goldfish due to the reason ive never been satisified with it since i set it up .so i was too scared to upgrade to tropical

I feel that the pressure coming out of the spray bar doesnt feel strong enough it sorta just "comes out".. and its always been like this

i have tried running pump without media to see a difference. and no difference. thinking maybe the impellor is worn? or pump head is tired. i will post up a video and some pictures of the setup.

thanx for the help in advance much appreciated

Is there any blockage in the pipes?
Is there any dirt in the impeller housing?
Is there any damage to the impeller blades?
Is there any damage to the impeller magnet?

seems about right for that filter, IMO.
the flow is ok, its just the water speed is reduced by the large bore of the "alternate" installation set, you have.
if you fitted a "green" outlet, you would see the water shoot much further. even thought the amount of water moving is still the same.

providing you are using the eheim media, as i said that looks right.

I have the same filter with the same spraybar and mine seems a bit more vigorous so would still give it a once over to check anyway.

Hey guys thanks for the reply.
I dont think it's due to blockage in pipes. as i bought the pipes brand new. and the pressure is the same as when i first set it up.
The blades on the impeller look fine. When you mean dirt in the impeller housing.. do you mean where the impeller sits in?
And the impeller magnet... how do you know if there is damage to that?.. small chips?
Also with the spraybar. it seems like the spraybar is never "completely full of water" the top 1/3 of it has no water inside.. and also of that spraybar.. how many pieces have u got setup?.. as in you know how u can make it longer. i noticed once i reduced one piece. it made quite a difference to pressure.

Also yes i am using eheim media. I might have a look into this green outlet.

The spraybar should be full of water with no trapped air. Mine is 6 sections long with 4 of those having holes and I appear to have more pressure :/

sorry about the late post. ive been away for the weekend. Is your spray bar beneath water level or above aquascaper
Thanks

why not just measure your flow?

take the spray bar off.
hold a container beneath the outlet.
time it, lets say for 1 minute.
then weigh the result, deducting the container weight.
multiply by 60 and you have you lph rate.

if its below 40% of the claimed, you have a problem.

good idea ok so did this. i got 8.5 litres for the minute
so 8.5 X 60 = 516 lph

keep in note i am running without media aswell and test was done after it goes on the bend that connects to the spraybar

eheim claim it should be 950lph

think i have a problem

redone test with only a hose on the output.. and only a metre long.. and it pumped out to 11.5litres per minute being 690 litres an hour which is alot better. still far from what its meant to be tho. maybe if i shortened the inlet aswell?

guys i think ive worked it out.. theres meant to be a plug that goes on the side of the pump head ..mine is missing. i just ordered one.. hopefully its this.. will post back to let you guys know my experience
