Hi!

Hope your all well! Thank you in advance for reading this post!

Unfortuatly, whenever I load the pictures I took of them, it keeps coming up with an error, so im hoping my desciption of them is ok. Will keep trying to upload the pics!

This morning I went to sponge the glass of the tank and found small round white translucent eggs stuck to the sides of the tank. There is a spawn on the front glass of the tank and one on the side of the tank.

I have 4 Bronze corys, 4 small albino corys and 1 male betta. I had a slight outbreak of snails but managed to get rid a lot of them.

I suppose im curious as to whether they are fish eggs or snail eggs (at the risk of sounding stupid - im not a keeper of snails so have no idea of the breeding sitution of them!) and what is the best steps to take next!

Yeah I thought that might have been the case. Is it best to just leave them there?

The cories or beta might eat them. If you have a breeder net just roll the eggs onto your finger and put them in the net.

I don't have a breeder net- I will have a look into getting one. The betta ignores them and the albino coreys are far to busy munching on things on the substrate! The bronze corys however will swim up to them and it almost looks like they are cleaning them? Like eating around them? Sounds odd but thats what it looks like anyway.

if you head over to the corydora section there's pictures and info there about breeding cories and what to do with eggs etc.

My suspicion would be that the bronze cories are trying to eat them more than anything else.

Good luck with them anyway :)

I would say they are snail eggs. If the eggs appear white within a clear substance that is nearly impossible to remove I'd definately say snails. Best method of snail control I have tried are Clown and Yoyo Loaches. I am not sure the correct name of the Yoyo Loach as it seems everyone just calls them that. There is also a product you might be able to buy called No More Snails but I believe you cannot have any live plants in the tank and this product is not available in all countries because of the ingredients.

I had a look on google images and the eggs are very similar to the pictures of city eggs- I will type in snail eggs as well to see if they are more similar to that. The snails I had were very small themselves- it seems pretty impressive if they were able to lay these! Ha!

I haven't touched them yet as I an waiting for a breeding net to arrive- although the corys that have taken a fancy to then struggle to take them off the wall. They do see fairly secure as a batch of them are under the waterfall but of the filter- and they haven't come off.

Oh- and the eggs arnt surrounded by any clear substance.

cory eggs are soft and sticky to begin with and then harden over a few hours.

Have a look in my 'trying to breed my cories' thread in the corydora section. I've added lots of pictures of the various stages. Harlequins and Cazgar also have threads with pictures too (there's others but I can't remember all the names :))
