Efx 600 Motor Or Cheap External Filter

My Aquamanta EFX 600 external filter has given up the ghost. Fortunately I run on two filters so the tank is still going!
 
I need to replace the motor. It is a sealed unit that appears fixed within the top section of the filter.
 
It seems daft to buy an entire new filter + media etc., so I'm looking for a replacement top unit. Unlikely I know... I haven't been able to find anywhere on the net that sells them either.
 
Alternatively a second-hand external filter of approximately the same throughput would be good!
