Dumb Questions?

Just started a new planted tank (journal and pics to follow later tonight) and was wondering if i decided to dose something like flourish excel or easycarbo would my filters remove it in the same way they remove medicines?

Also have some apple snails in another tank, would it be ok to have a few in a planted tank or is this just asking for trouble?

no, the filters won't remove it. The active product in Carb/Excel has a halflife of about 24 hours.

The apple snail should be OK.
