Dumb Fish Shop

Hey,
Went to a lfs today iv'e never been there before. I saw 4 bettas in different tanks with gouramis neons and other tetras etc
I told the woman that one of the bettas looked very ill and he shouldn't be with those fish- She said "Ok, it's no problem i'll move him" I thought i had made a change untill she moved him into a tank with more tetras and gouramis than the first. I had to buy him. Put him in an unused tank temporarily and i'll go from there.

So pleased you rescued him. I went to my local aquatic centre for some fish treatment for my fancy goldfish of course they didnt have any in stock tried to sell me anti fungus stuff which I already have..I was quite pleased they didnt have any bettas. Went to my pet shop this afternoon just got aquatic salt...no bettas...breathes sigh of relief...girl in there said we had no end sold them everso quick! I really got no space!

My dad has the camera at the moment.
Is there any alternative to aquatic salt? I don't really have any money i am using melafix at the moment but the salt would speed things up.

Dunno..I just tend to use aquatic salt if I havent got right med! Years ago my dad used to use cooking salt and my old uncle used to swear by a tiny speck of soluble aspirin in his fish bowl. He had this goldfish for as long as I can remember. Mind you there werent so many chemicals in the water then.
