Drilled is usually for salt water set ups. They can easily be patched for fresh.

aye thanks :) I found a 20g tank for 2 bucks!!!!! i was thinking of making a marine tank and puting 2 clowns in there and a hermit or 2 or a shrimp. What kind of filtration does the marine tanks need? would a filter that hangs on the back work? or maybe a poweryead for a slight curent?

 No, you want something a bit more specialised than a HOB and a powerhead on a marine tank, at the very least you want a very large external canister and a protein skimmer.

If that is all you want in the marine tank then you could filter it exclusivly with good quality live rock and live sand (with powerheads to circulate the water), however since this is your first tank I would strongly recomend a hang on the back skimmer, as well as some form of mechanical filtration.

I'd like to point out that there is a very large difference between keeping clownfish and keeping anenomes (I'm guessing that you may want one for your clownfish), with anenomes needing absolutly prestine water conditions and huge amounts of light in the right spectrum (expensive to buy) and being IMO not well suited at all as the first invertebrate someone keeps.

If you are serious about making it a saltwater tank please read as much as you can before you buy anything, it will save you money in the long run, and possibly consider a larger tank (greater stability). Try reading the articles on these sites as starters:
