ok today im sitting here waiting for my co2 to go off tonight and 15 minutes after is was meant to turn off, it was still pumping out co2, went over removed it rom the timer and still no joy, so i thought has the fuse gone, changed fuse, still no joy, so what I need to know can I replace the solenoid and are they cheap enough to worth replacing. As I say co2 is still working ok, so I have had to turn off the flow of co2 by the regulator now.

I cant believe my luck lately, what can go wrong is going wrong with me. I am nearly ready to chuck the whole planting stuff away and go back to gravel and go and buy some spongebob squarepants ornaments.

Lol. If the fuse had gone it would've closed the CO2 ;)

They are cheap enough. If you search on ebay you can get one from Lunapet (I think their shop name is Aquarianversand) for circa £25. They are goo solenoids.

Will come with a Euro plug so either use an adaptor or snip the cables and wire to a UK plug. Will come with 2 screw nuts (in and out) so you can just fit it inline, otherwise you may be able to fit it like for like on the regulator.

However if the old solenoid is not stopping the CO2 may as well not ' tamper' with the reg seal and just fit the new one inline. That way if the old one does start working again you can just remove the new one.

EDIT :seems prices have gone up. Euro vs £ etc. Link is below. Works out at about £35 with shipping. If I were you I might get their needle valve for an extra £8 because they are really good compared to awkward brass ones that come on the ebay all in one regs :) p.s. If you can read German you're on a winner with these guys. lol
