Someone has told me that active carbon in my filter will remove fertilizer/nutrients from the water in my planted tank and said I shouldn't use active carbon if I want my plants to do well. Can someone confirm this, as I hadn't realised this was the case before now? Or is this just why we dose ferts daily?

Thanks

Myth.
The amount it takes out is negligable.
If it's been several months then the carbon is most likely full anyway and will need replacing.
Lots of us planted tank folk will use carbon. It's a good thing to have in the filter.

Well alright then, cheers!
