Do shell dwelling multis need dither fish to feel comfortable? I want to make sure they are as happy as possible, and they seem SUPER nervous.
I did get more shells, 18 of them in the tank now, and each of the three fish seem to have picked out their favorites.
The tank is a 30 gallon and 30 inch tank, and I use Seachem's Rift Lake Salts and Prime to condition the water.

I would keep them just by themselves, often this type of fish will be timid for a while the best thing you can do is just sit in front of the tank not moving. They will eventually get used to you and their surroundings.

Not particularly.
They are just by nature very shy - and as mentioned before, they will l eventually come out of their shell (pun intended).
