Is now at University! :D
I've been watching my 'female' curviceps for awhile now that I've moved her and the male upstairs. She is at least 6cm long hence why I'm relatively certain that she is a she. And I'm also certain that my male is a male. Thing is, she looks ALOT different to him. I've checked pictures online and such and I guess she does look like females on there... give or take. But at the same time I've seen picturs of females that are coloured up the same as my male.
I'm guessing perhaps she just isn't in breeding colours? But at the same time I've started wondering if there was any chance she may be a dorsigera cross? I'll upload pics later, but I'm mainly asking if crosses actually exist. Not chinese whisper style. As in have you ever seen first hand a thread (or real life person lol) that claims to have bred the two together...
Him
Her
Better pics to come, she does actually have a big dark 'spot' on her dorsal fin by the way. The camera flash seems to not show it though. She does have the trailing white stripe of a curviceps. Sometimes gets slight barring though on her rear half which is apparently a dorsigera trait.
Here they are in the tank downstairs (take 2 days ago). Male on left, female on right. You can see her black dorsal spot really clearly here.
