I have a 3spot gold and a moonlight gourami. They are about 4in including tail, may be slightly stunted as were kept by previous owner in dirty water and had finrot.
I may be adopting 2 other gourami, unknown species, which are allegedly 5inches. Will they all get on or will the new bigger ones attack mine? They will have to go in sam etank as I don't have any more spare tanks

I think it will depend on individual fish temperement. Another thing that sways their actions is numbers. If you have a lot of one species and then only one or 2 of another whom are smaller they may be targetted.

I have 2 larger gold gourami that I've had for months, and yesterday added 3 blue coral dwarf gourami and there hasn't been an issue at all they get along fine!

I think it's just a case of try them out and see how it goes! (that's if you have another tank to seperate them)

I guess I had bad luck with Gouramis, my dwarf flame and Blue spotted used to go at it so I separated them. I added a Gold Gourami (a bit smaller than the blue)to my blue spotted then the blue spotted gourami stressed my Gold Gourami to death :-( I want to add more but Im afraid same thing might happen.

Gouramis are territorial species and they like to 'delimit' an area in the tank as their own. Normally the ratio is 10g/gourami or 30ltr/gourami. For honeys which are smaller and less agressive you should reckon with at least 5g. Especially dwarfs are prone to sicknesses due to stress. I kept in the beginning 3 dwarfs in a 15g tank and the lowest one in the picking hierarchy died due to so-called 'gourami sickness'.

So, it is really all about size. How big is your tank?

yeh i agree it depends on tank size and individual personality but a general rule is females will mix together alot better with other gourami species than males

Its a 50 gallon lots of open areas tho, not much loss of sight. Im not sure if its male or female, maybe female coz is not as colourful as other gouramis, maybe just my blue spotted gouramis personality. You think I'll have a better luck if its heavily planted?

My pearl, lavender and moonlight gouramis get on with each other really well. My blue and golds were very stroppy though and I ended up rehoming some and just keeping a female gold and male blue who were the quiet ones! In my opinion it very much depends on the individual fish. The gold I rehomed was a female but attacked all the other gouramis including her gold sister!

I got a paradise fish (bigger than my blue spotted Gourami) and the poor thing got chased by the tiger barbs and my blue gourami, when my blue gourami start chasing the paradise fish she chases the tiger barbs as well, like she doesnt want them to interfere. I put my paradise fish in my 35 gallon now and gets on fine with my Dwarf Flame Gourami
