hi all,
i currently work in a heating and plumbing suppliers company, i have looked every around on a lot of sites trying to find a reasonable price on pressurized co2 kits to no avail, what i am asking is if someone could list the pieces required to build one of these sets myself and the specific size pieces needed, iam hoping we have the requirments needed here in work
if this sounds like a crazy plan please say so,hope it doesnt sound too off the wall,
cheers

You'll need a regulator to start with. The cheapest good quality one I've found is from Weld UK for £29.99. You may need to attach this nut and tail so you can attach CO2 tubing. To this you'll need to attach a needle valve to control the bubble rate. Aquaessentials have a Fishvet one for £21.99 or you could get a Clippard MNV-2 needle valve (£9.70) and you also need 2 adapters for the tubing 11752-1 (£7.00). The adapters come in a pack of 10. These are available from The West Group. You'll need to phone them to place an order. I think they now have a minimum order of £30. If you want a solenoid to cut off the CO2 at night then aquaessentials sell 2 but they aren't cheap. You may be able to source them elsewhere cheaper.

Your CO2 supply can come from a few different places. All depends on how easy it is for you to get a refill. I use a 6.35kg pub bottle which costs me £15+vat for a refill. Any soft drink / pub supplier should be able to provide you with a bottle. Fire extinguishers are becoming ever more popular. Check to see if you have a local filling station. Some companys are fussy unless you buy their extinguishers. Bottles used for welding can also be used. Again check to see if you have a local welding supplier who can refill for you. The most expensive option by far is to buy a JBL bottle or similar and have your LFS refill it.

And finally you'll need a diffuser and CO2 tubing available from Aquaessentials.

Hope this is of help

james your a legend, wasnt expecting someone to go to the extent you did, now the challenge begins,
as you seem to have done a lot of research on this, have you attempted this before.
thanks a million for all the info and links

Nope never done it myself, but know people who have and it works fine. The only downside to this method is that all the components are connected using CO2 tubing rather than connected together in one unit. It is possible to do but you would have to buy the right connections. I myself use a JBL regulator which works very well.
