Recently decided to go the money saving route and do my own root tabs. I am using gel capsules with osmocote fertilizer inside them. I have play sand in my tank and the first time I put them in there I started noticing them rising out of the sand. Am I not putting them in far enough? Is the gelatin from the capsules harmful to my ghost shrimp or fish. It seems the gel capsules expand and then rise due to having air in them. Need some advice

Ice cube tray, bit of water, in the freezer, then you can push the little cube under as one before the ice melts. My other half hasn't noticed what's in the ice cube tray yet as I make the drinks.

I hope you dont use those ice cubes for your drinks ha! But good idea i will make them small enough so i dont disturb the substrate!
