Diy Co2 Injector Questions

You can leave it on all the time pressure of the Co2 in the bottle pushes out the bubbles. You can check that you dont have too much by checking the ph of the tank water before and after. A drop of one ph point is enough.

ok i noe its a sin but because i noe the ph of my city water and i clean the tank atleast once a week i don't have any ph and water kits -_- i may get one in the future. so i can leave it on all the time? im also using leaf zone plant food i got today. dunno if that makes a diffrence

well my ph in the tank is about 6.5 so how long do you thnik i should have it on just to be safe? if i want it off do i take out the bubble stone and unscrew the cap to relieve the pressure?

Hi Discusluva, you can leave the CO2 on constantly without any detrimental effect on the fish, as long as you aren't over injecting the CO2. However, most people like to use a solenoid valve as it does give complete control over the CO2 injection and prevents any unwanted build up of CO2 over night. It also means that you effectively double the time that the CO2 bottle will last. After a while the solenoid valve will pay for it's self by saving you on CO2 gas. Hope this helps.
