I have been looking at these fish and admiring them for far too long now. So i am after some advice and help.

I have heard so many horror stories about these fish, nightmare to keep etc. I appologise if there is already a guide for this (i have been hunting for it)

Can anyone please point me in the direction of a guide or give me a guide on what i need to do to look after some of these amazing fish.

thanks

OP, I have kept discus and as long as you have experience in keeping good water then you should not really have a problem.

They are best in groups of 6 with minimum of 10 Gallons per ADULT fish. You can grow them on in smaller tanks. They need regular feeding and a varied diet. Their water needs to be kept clean I changed 20-30% two to three times a week. Good filtration and temp close to 30 degrees.
I did keep mine at PH 6.5 by using a buffering powder. Many people do not recommend this but I had no problems. I used waterlife ph buffer.

I fed beefheart, bloodworms, krill, prawns, flake and pellets.
